Now that college is over, Jim (Jason Biggs) decides to get serious about life and proposes marriage to his college sweetheart Michelle (Alyson Hannigan). His proposal is happily accepted and the preparations for it begins.  They gather their families and friends to plan the wedding. This brings back Jim's pals from college, Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and Stifler (Seann William Scott).  But for Stifler, the actual ceremony is only a sidelight to the central event: the bachelor party. When a quirk of fate makes his presence necessary to save the bride's perfect wedding vision, Stifler not only takes charge of the stag night's entertainment, but he also starts romancing Michelle's younger sister, Cadence (January Jones).  What happens next is a series of nuptial complications, even humiliations.  Will Jim and Michelle manage to have a perfect wedding with Stifler's presence?

The third slice of the American Pie, The Wedding attempts to elevate humor to a higher and more mature level than its two predecessors. Although the juvenile humor and a certain degree of grossness and vulgarity is still there, the film goes beyond a discussion of the human sexual nature and libido and succeeds in injecting a dose of relationship values. The plot is predictable, and even stereotypically ordinary for its premise and genre but the hilarious turn of events and situations makes the film as much enjoyable and crudely funny as the original.

The film actually belongs to the character of Stifler who goes through a process of evolution from the happy-go-lucky, sex-hungry pal who cares less for others' feelings, to a more sensitive and responsible guy who's willing to make-up for his mistakes.  His character proves that although man may not change overnight, still change for the better is possible. His intentions and motives may not be good at first but it is later on purified by sincerity and genuine friendship.  The families of both the bride and the groom in the movie demonstrate the real meaning of unconditional love and care. But the apparent intentions which concentrate much on teen-sex-oriented humor make the entire American Pie: The Wedding prone to many interpretations and misinterpretations. Thus it is recommended that the movie may be seen only by a mature audience.
