The Mindanao-Sulu Churches in Search of an Identity

At a recent Convention of the Diocesan Clergy of Mindanao, the Diocesan Priests resolved to make a Jubilee Pilgrimage.

They decided to hold it in Butuan.

A happy choice since it was in Butuan that the systematic evangelization of Mindanao started.

In this way, they are going back to their roots and maybe find there a basis for their identity.

The Diocesan priests requested the Archbishop of Ozamis to make the preliminary arrangements.

Archbishop Dosado is offering the following documents for a background.

	The letter of Archbishop Dosado, C.M., to Pope John Paul II after the audience of the Mindanao Bishops with him on September 27^th,1996.
	The article of Fr. Miguel Bernad, S.J., describing the blessing of the first church constructed in Mindanao.
	Historical sketch of the Evangelization of Mindanao, courtesy also of Fr. Miguel Bernad, S.J.
	The letter of Archbishop Dosado to the Diocesan Clergy of Mindanao dated May 28^th, 2000.
	Proposed Program of Activities for November 8-9, 2000.
	Proposed Pastoral Letter from the Mindanao Bishops.
	We offer a Proposed Novena to the Birhen sa Kasilak so that our Churches in Mindanao can start invoking their proposed Patroness.

All the Mindanao-Sulu Bishops are requested to e-mail to the present webmaster at abpdosado@cbcpworld.com what they wish to be included in this Web Site especially in their respective jurisdictions, their activities and especially their Pastoral Letters and Statements to be included in the Bishops' Teachings. Those in charge of the building up the Life of our Churches through Commissions, Committees, or Concerns are also requested to send in what they wish to be published.
