THE PHILIPPINE EPISCOPAL COMMISSION ON SEMINARIES ON THE VALIDITY OF THE SEMINARY TRAINING “Many young men don’t know whether or not they have a vocation, and we must help them to find out. This is the role of the Minor Seminary. However, these seminarians need to be well-organized in view of the special circumstances of the students for whom they are intended. It is not prudent to destine candidates in the Minor Seminary directly to the priesthood from the very outset. A new approach could be used in order to enable young men to fell their way and eventually reach an intelligent decision. Every effort should be made to eliminate any possibility of moral coercion and its consequent dangers”

(Episcopal Commission on Seminaries – CBCP) “The Minor (High School) Seminary should be given due importance in the life of the diocese. It must be prudently open to his life, and form part of it. Then it may not only attract the ready cooperation of faithful and clergy, but also – as the center of pastoral care for vocations – exercise a benefit and effective influence on the young students, promoting their spiritual progress.”
