HIGH SCHOOL SEMINARY FORMATION

Philosophy
    • At different stages of life, priestly vocation shows itself in different ways in youth, in men of more mature years and also as the constant experience of the church testifies, in boys – in whom it frequently shows itself, like a “seed”, in company with a distinct piety, an ardent love of God and neighbor and a leaning towards the apostolate.
    • The preciousness and rarity of the priestly vocation demand that everything should be encouraged that can promote generous responses to a divine vocation.
    • The gift of vocation, which touches on the innermost workings of grace and human psychology, necessitates special programs, and undertakings to detect, develop and form vocations. For such need, the high school seminary is organized to help the boys who seem to show the initial signs of vocations to recognize this vocation easily, and to respond to it.
    • The training and formation is first step towards formal priestly studies and immediate preparation for the college seminary formation.

Nature of High School Seminary

The High School Seminary is a non-stock, non-profit institution of formation at the high school level, recognized by the Government and partially subsidized by the Diocesan Bishop, specifically functioning “to help boys who seem to show the initial signs of vocation more easily and clearly and to respond to it.”

The High School Seminary referred herein is the traditional one, i.e. the young students have their residences, studies and spiritual formation (Phil. Ratio No. 68) without prejudice to its modified variation recently allowed since Vatican II ( Decree of the Priestly Formation, No.3) and duly recognized by the Philippine Hierarchy Philippine Ratio 1972).
